Description
This is
an injection-plastic jet aircraft model kit.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was designed by Skunk Works, led by Kelly Johnson, and made its first flight in 1954. It was equipped with one General Electric J79 turbojet engine, and its maximum speed was Mach 2.2. Its distinctively thin, sharply pointed fuselage and thin, small wings were attention-getting, and the U.S. Air Force started using it in 1958. It was also deployed and operated in many countries around the world, including in Japan from 1962 to 1986.This model kit from Platz uses parts by F-Toys with realistically expressed panel lines and a high level of detail, especially in the finely reproduced landing gear. Decals for three versions are included, from the time when it was in use by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force from the early 1960s to the 1980s (203rd Squadron, 206th Squadron, 207th Squadron).
