The Wiesel airborne combat vehicle is a small tracked vehicle currently used by the German Army for paratroopers; it was named “Wiesel” (weasel) due to its small size and agility. Development began in the 1970s, and mass production began in 1984; of the 345 Wiesel 1 Mk.20 produced between 1989 and 1992, 135 of them were armed with the Rheinmetall Rh202 cannon.
